Here's a super vibey garage pop 45 for your consideration.
The Roves hail from the suburbs of North London and are made up of brothers James & Tom Wing with the locomotive rhythm section of Luke Evans & Brendan Monahan. Their group sound is super together, on it, in the moment, their music influenced by all art forms, not just music. In just under a year they've released two stunning albums and toured extensively across Europe with Nick Waterhouse.
‘Hey Little Man’ was recorded to tape in May this year at Ray Davies’s Konk Studios and will be released on 7" & digital on Friday 13th September by El Rancho Records The vinyl cut was made from the lacquer master for total quality of sound, while a new 16mm video features the band frolicking around Hyde Park and Fortis Green in halcyon days. Purists in their art of classic sound The Roves say of the lead track “This is the first fully 'Hi Fi' track we’ve ever recorded. We added flutes, more harmonies, keyboards, mellotron and a 12 string Rickenbacker on there too. It’s a clue to the direction we’re about to take - A bigger sound, more interesting elements added into the production”. Both songs appear on their latest album 'All Those Freaks' as original lighter versions than the punchy numbers we have here in this classic 45 single - short, sharp and catchy as hell guitar music!
The new single has been receiving praise of the highest order from the likes of Bobby Gillespie, Gerard Love and others. Get into this, why don't you.
