Glasgow's Nightshift are a new formation featuring members of other Glasgow formations, but that doesn't really matter in the long run. Their debut is a gorgeous, DIY pop built upon locked in grooves based around synth and exploratory, looping drums with vocal duties taken on by Andrew "Robert Sotelo" Doig and performance artist Eo Stern. Lopsided, sun-dappled and pleasingly, lightly acid-fried sonic palettes galore across the 7 tracks, reminding us of Tiger Mountain-era Eno fastforwarded a couple of years into No New Wave New York, with shades of Y-Pants, dashes of big fuzz bass riffs and psyche-garage band playing. The way the group are intermeshed, looping lines primitively threaded through the other with joyous aplomb.

This eponymous debut is the group's first release on their in-house label Cusp, with an LP on the way on a USA label
