Jacqueline Taieb: Her 1967 Debut Album

Merlins Nose

Limited to 1.000 copies only! Yé-Yé pop bliss from 1967.

Jacqueline Taieb is one of the most important of the yé-yé girls, her debut album is as scarce as gold dust and fetches high prices among collectors. Tunisian born Taieb sounds footloose and free, very funny and vibey, slightly bratty and seriously talented. In places as wild sounding as a Who 45, her intense brand of fiery late 60s beat refined with tinges of garage rock is instant and amazing. There's some beautiful tunes too, melancholic ballads that grab at your heart, and a few dazzling arrangements that put her right up there with Chantal Goya and Clothilde. Best in class, love it.
